What changed
In Ranked 2.0 (from late 2022) every player had a visible rank plus a hidden number used for matchmaking. You could be Gold and play against Platinums. Ranked 3.0 scrapped that: your Rank Points are your rank.
How it works
- A season starts with five placement matches with boosted point gains.
- You gain points for a win and lose them for a loss. Opponent strength affects the result.
- After promotion to a new division, a Demotion Shield protects you from dropping straight back.
- Players with very different ranks cannot queue together, with stricter rules at higher ranks.
The top ranks
Champion is split into five steps. From Operation Split Fire (September 2026) there is also a Legend Division, a separate competition for the very best players.
