Samsung Group is a huge conglomerate: it builds ships and houses and makes home appliances. Electronics became its most important part, and memory chips its biggest business. That is also why it has an influence on RAM prices.
Galaxy
The Galaxy S with Android competed with the iPhone. The Galaxy Note series popularised large phones with a stylus. Samsung was the first to sell foldable phones on a mass scale.
Note 7
In 2016 Samsung had to recall the Galaxy Note 7 because the batteries in some units caught fire. Airlines banned them on board. Samsung then introduced stricter battery testing.
