From Poland to the world
CD Projekt started out as a game distributor in Poland. The first Witcher was an ambitious game from a small studio. The third game, with its open world, strong side quests and moral choices, sold tens of millions of copies.
The series and the books
The success of the games also helped the books, and in 2019 Netflix launched a live-action series. Geralt became an icon of fantasy.
What's next
In 2024 CD Projekt announced a fourth game built on Unreal Engine 5, with a new protagonist, Ciri. The release date has not yet been announced.
